
Batik Kujur has become a source of immense pride for the Muara Enim Regency. This regional signature batik was featured at Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW), the largest fashion event in Indonesia, which brings together extraordinary talents in the fashion industry.
Key Highlights of the Event:
- PTBA’s Contribution: PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) successfully showcased Batik Kujur products created by the Bukit Asam Industrial Center (SIBA) Batik, a project under PTBA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
- Designer Collaboration: At IFW 2022, Batik Kujur collaborated with talented designer Eva Yasul from Seleman Village, Tanjung Agung District, alongside 13 other Entrepreneurs of Modest Fashion (EOMF).
- National Runway: A total of seven elegant designs by Twinstyle by Eva Yasul were performed by national models on the prestigious runway.
- Evolution of Quality: Designer Eva Yasul noted that under PTBA’s guidance, Batik Kujur has seen significant development, with increasingly diverse motifs and materials.
Empowerment and Cultural Preservation
Hartono, Senior Manager of CSR at PTBA, stated that this initiative is a realization of PTBA’s CSR program aimed at preserving regional culture while simultaneously boosting the local economy. By empowering batik artisans, particularly those in the “Ring 1” operational area of Dusun Tanjung, the program seeks to:
- Increase the national popularity of Batik Kujur.
- Support Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) fostered by the company.
- Improve the welfare of local artisans through increased exposure and economic opportunities.
