Senior Iranian military commanders have emphasized the vital importance of unity among the armed forces, declaring their readiness to defend the nation “to the last drop of blood” amidst what they describe as potential threats of an attack from the United States.
According to the Fars News Agency, Ali Jahanshahi, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces, stated that internal military unity is the key to confronting external threats. “Unity among the armed forces is essential to thwarting the enemy during crisis situations,” Jahanshahi said. “The armed forces must act as a single entity so that the enemy feels powerless when facing them.”
He further stated that the Army’s Ground Forces will stand alongside the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces to defend Iran, asserting that no sacrifice will be spared in protecting the nation’s territory.
In a separate statement, Brigadier General Mohammad Karami, Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces, also stressed the importance of solidarity, noting that the unity within Iran’s armed forces has consistently foiled the enemy’s plans.
“The existing synergy between the armed forces is a valuable asset that must be earnestly maintained and strengthened,” Karami said.
These statements were made amidst escalating tensions fueled by concerns in Israel that Iran might launch a preemptive strike, as well as fears that Tehran itself could potentially become a target of a US military attack, Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Friday. The report mentioned that the US continues to bolster its military presence in the region.
Pressure on Iran from the US and Israel has intensified since late December 2025, when protests broke out across various parts of the country due to deteriorating economic conditions and living standards. Tehran has accused Washington of using sanctions, political pressure, and domestic unrest as pretexts for military intervention and regime change.
